Bondage Rope
Bondage rope is made especially for bondage play so, if you like to be tied up
while having sex, make sure you use a good quality bondage rope that doesn't hurt
or damage your skin.
Bondage rope is soft and gentle so that it won't irritate or damage your skin;
it is also strong and it won't unravel, fray or fall apart while you're using
it. Commercial rope is not the best thing to use as it is quite harsh and has
a tendency to unravel, it is also not very flexible and is difficult to work
with. A good quality bondage rope will last you years of bondage play and all
you need do is use your imagination or if you are really serious you can get
books on the subject!
Standard Bondage ropes are made from a variety different materials, including
silk, cotton and hemp all of which are strong and sturdy but soft soft so that
they are comfortable against your skin.
Japanese rope bondage which is properly known as 'kinbaku' (the beauty of tight
bondage) and latterly in the western world as 'shibari' ('to tie' or 'to bind')
is a special way of binding your partner for sexual gratification and for the
aesthetics of the finished position. Japanese bondage is said to differ from
western bondage in that rather than simply being immobilized, the tied-up partner
gains pleasure from being under the pressure and strain of the ropes. Tradition
Kinbaku involves the use of specific rope patterns and the patterns of the wrappings
and knots are an important part of the bondage play; Kinbaku often uses very
few knots, or indeed, none at all as historically, knots on a person was seen
as very disgraceful.
